UMassFive is pleased to welcome Timothy (Tim) Webster to its Board of Directors as an Associate Director. Webster brings extensive experience in law, governance, higher education, and international affairs, along with a longstanding commitment to service and community engagement.
Webster is a Professor of Law at Western New England University, where he teaches Property Law, International Human Rights Law, and Comparative Law. He has also held faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University and Yale Law School, as well as universities in France, China and Taiwan. Prior to his academic career, Webster practiced law in the New York and Tokyo offices of Morrison Foerster LLP and served as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in organizations that promote legal scholarship, professional collaboration, and community service.
"I am honored to join UMassFive as an Associate Director and contribute to an organization that is deeply committed to improving the financial well-being of its members and the communities it serves," said Webster. "I am particularly interested in using the credit union's resources to ensure equal access to mortgages, credit cards, and other financial instruments. Western Massachusetts has pockets of great wealth, but also some of the highest poverty rates in the Commonwealth."
UMassFive is proud to welcome leaders who bring diverse perspectives, professional expertise, and a shared commitment to its mission.
