Support for the Hampshire College Community
With the news that Hampshire College will be closing after the fall 2026 semester, we recognize that many in our community may be facing uncertainty. During times like these, we want to offer a steady reminder: UMassFive is here as a trusted source of financial guidance, support, and stability.
If you, a family member, or someone you know is preparing for potential changes, exploring options, or simply looking for reassurance about your financial future, we’re here to help. Click here, give us a call, or stop by a branch.
No matter what the future holds, please know you’ll always have a place with UMassFive. Once a member, always a member.
Digital Card Issuance
Did you know? When you open an account or receive a new card, Digital Issuance lets you access your card right away in your mobile wallet—so you can start making purchases immediately, even before your physical card arrives.
You can use your digital wallet to pay securely online or in-store, without entering your card details or pulling out your card.
Note: If you add your card to your digital wallet at account opening, you’ll still receive a physical card in the mail.
New Digital Banking Charity Option
Did you know you can donate directly to a charity through Online and Mobile Banking? We highlight different local charities to make it easier for us and our membership to give back. Previously, we have highlighted the Amherst Survival Center and the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. This summer, we will be highlighting the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hampshire County.

We’re excited to grow awareness of this donation option and deepen the connection between our members and the local organizations they care about.
Personal Care Items Drive
During the month of June, our Hadley, Northampton, and Springfield Mercy Medical Center branches will be holding a Personal Care Items Drive to benefit the pantries of the Amherst Survival Center, Northampton Survival Center, and The Gray House. Items collected will be provided, for free, to our neighbors in need.
If you would like to participate, you may donate unopened shampoo and conditioner, shaving supplies, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, toilet paper, baby diapers, menstrual products, bed and bladder pads, and adult incontinence briefs through June 30, 2026.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day Prize Winner
In February, we celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) with our annual sponsorship of a UMass Women’s Basketball game. This year’s game fell on the exact day of this annual day of celebration, and as part of the game, we once again gave away $500 to a local community member who was chosen as the winner of our social media contest. With over 280 entries, we are proud to congratulate the Potter Family: Anja and Nora Potter on their win!
