This fall, UMassFive employees will once again be participating in two important local fundraisers: Will Bike 4 Food and UMass Cancer Walk and Run. Our employees band together as Team UMassFive, raising funds for these events from friends, family, members, and some Credit Union vendors. You may even see fundraisers going on in our branches, where employees have inspired us in past years with their creativity in setting up raffle baskets, art sales, bake sales, and so much more.

Will Bike 4 Food is a bicycling event that benefits The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, an organization that annually distributes nearly 12.3 million meals throughout Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties. Since 2020, Team UMassFive has raised $23,500 in support of this event. The ride will take place on Sunday, September 21, kicking off in Hatfield, and Team UMassFive will be there!

UMassFive employees will also be raising funds and participating in the UMass Cancer Walk and Run, an event that benefits the UMass Cancer Center in Worcester. This important annual event supports nearly a third of the funds allocated to clinical trials and research at the Cancer Center. Team UMassFive has been a top fundraising team for the Cancer Walk, raising nearly $206,000 over more than 20 years of participation. The Cancer Walk will take place on Sunday, September 28, at Polar Park in Worcester where participants can walk or run the 5K/3 mile event throughout the city.  If you would like to support Team UMassFive and help fund local cancer clinical trials, research, and care, visit our page linked below to make a donation.

Finally, later this fall, you can support our neighbors in need by bringing donations of new or gently used coats and winter accessories for our annual cold-weather clothing drive to our Hadley, Northampton, and Springfield Branches between October 1 and November 12. Donations will go to the Amherst Survival Center in support of their pop-up shopping event, and The Gray House in Springfield.
